Sub-Floor Plenum Component Cleaning
If you have a raised access floor, you should consider cleaning the sub floor plenum and its
substructure and components at least once annually. Many sites clean their sub floor plenums
annually, while they neglect the floor’s sub-structure and sub floor components.
Air movement in the subfloor plenum continuously circulates microscopic contaminants
throughout the sub floor cavity. Concrete particulate, belt dust, microscopic metal shavings all
circulate under the subfloor. These particulates accumulate on leak detection whips, smoke and
fire detectors, floor stringers and conduit and pipes.
Regularly scheduled data center sub floor cleaning services should include sub floor component
cleaning too. This will insure that microscopic contaminants do no become airborne where they
can potentially damage sensitive processors, tapes and tape drives or become trapped in cooling
fan exhausts.
Contact FloorCare Specialists today to schedule a free on site evaluation and proposal to
decontaminate and maintain the cleanliness of you sub floor plenum and components.
